It is the beauty of pure function, of absolute clarity, of a system so well-organized that it allows an expert user to locate one specific item out of a million possibilities with astonishing speed and confidence. The system supports natural voice commands, allowing you to control many features simply by speaking, which helps you keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. This had nothing to do with visuals, but everything to do with the personality of the brand as communicated through language. I think when I first enrolled in design school, that’s what I secretly believed, and it terrified me. For each and every color, I couldn't just provide a visual swatch. The chart itself held no inherent intelligence, no argument, no soul.
