It feels personal. This system, this unwritten but universally understood template, was what allowed them to produce hundreds of pages of dense, complex information with such remarkable consistency, year after year. Studying the Swiss Modernist movement of the mid-20th century, with its obsession with grid systems, clean sans-serif typography, and objective communication, felt incredibly relevant to the UI design work I was doing. It might be a weekly planner tacked to a refrigerator, a fitness log tucked into a gym bag, or a project timeline spread across a conference room table. This multimedia approach was a concerted effort to bridge the sensory gap, to use pixels and light to simulate the experience of physical interaction as closely as possible. I had to define its clear space, the mandatory zone of exclusion around it to ensure it always had room to breathe and was never crowded by other elements.
