The "cost" of one-click shopping can be the hollowing out of a vibrant main street, the loss of community spaces, and the homogenization of our retail landscapes. The first real breakthrough in my understanding was the realization that data visualization is a language. But a single photo was not enough. By plotting individual data points on a two-dimensional grid, it can reveal correlations, clusters, and outliers that would be invisible in a simple table, helping to answer questions like whether there is a link between advertising spending and sales, or between hours of study and exam scores. We are culturally conditioned to trust charts, to see them as unmediated representations of fact. Drawing, an age-old form of artistic expression, holds within its grasp the power to transcend boundaries and unlock the infinite potential of human creativity.
