In the print world, discovery was a leisurely act of browsing, of flipping through pages and letting your eye be caught by a compelling photograph or a clever headline. The intricate designs were not only visually stunning but also embodied philosophical and spiritual ideas about the nature of the universe. But when I started applying my own system to mockups of a website and a brochure, the magic became apparent. Chinese porcelain, with its delicate blue-and-white patterns, and Japanese kimono fabrics, featuring seasonal motifs, are prime examples of how patterns were integrated into everyday life. The more diverse the collection, the more unexpected and original the potential connections will be.
