After you've done all the research, all the brainstorming, all the sketching, and you've filled your head with the problem, there often comes a point where you hit a wall. Learning about concepts like cognitive load (the amount of mental effort required to use a product), Hick's Law (the more choices you give someone, the longer it takes them to decide), and the Gestalt principles of visual perception (how our brains instinctively group elements together) has given me a scientific basis for my design decisions. This dual encoding creates a more robust and redundant memory trace, making the information far more resilient to forgetting compared to text alone. For the optimization of operational workflows, the flowchart stands as an essential type of printable chart. This meant finding the correct Pantone value for specialized printing, the CMYK values for standard four-color process printing, the RGB values for digital screens, and the Hex code for the web. The screen assembly's ribbon cables are the next to be disconnected.
